Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang tied the knot with his longtime partner Andraia Allsop in a private ceremony in Los Angeles. The wedding took place three years after the death of Wolfgang’s father, rock legend Eddie Van Halen, at the age of 65. The couple got married at their home, with Wolfgang’s mother Valerie Bertinelli walking him down the aisle. They honored Eddie throughout the ceremony by keeping an empty chair for him and creating memory charms with their names on them. Bertinelli also lent Andraia a necklace that Eddie had given her.
The wedding was held in the couple’s living room, followed by a reception in their backyard. Wolfgang and Andraia wrote their own vows and paid tribute to their late loved ones in their speeches. Wolfgang wore a custom three-piece suit, while Andraia stunned in an Eva Lendel dress. The wedding feast featured an Italian-themed menu, including Tortellini en Brodo soup, braised short rib, pesto chicken, and cauliflower steaks. The dessert included tiramisu and a vanilla wedding cake with buttercream vanilla frosting.
Despite being a Grammy-nominated musician himself, Wolfgang chose not to perform at his wedding. Instead, they had a DJ for the reception, as Wolfgang was about to embark on a tour shortly after the wedding.
Wolfgang and Andraia first met on Instagram in 2015 and celebrated their eight-year anniversary on the day of their wedding. The wedding took place just over three years after Eddie Van Halen’s passing, who died after battling a stroke and cancer.
Valerie Bertinelli, Eddie’s ex-wife, was present at the wedding and shared sentimental moments she had with Eddie before his death. She revealed that Eddie’s last words to her were “I love you.” Bertinelli and Eddie had been married for 26 years and remained close even after their divorce in 2007. Bertinelli expressed how proud Eddie would have been of the man Wolfgang has become and how happy he would be for him and Andraia.
Bertinelli also recalled a touching gift that Eddie gave her during his battle with cancer, a gold bar pendant. Eddie told her that he loved her and regretted his mistakes during their marriage. Despite their deep connection, Valerie clarified that there was no chance of them getting back together, but their love for each other was undeniable.
