Born in Egypt, Mohamed Al-Fayed had made a fortune by approaching wealthy businessmen, including the Saudi Adnan Khashoggi, brother of his wife and mother of Dodi Al-Fayed. Mohamed Al-Fayed, who had created his own shipping company, had also advised the Sultan of Brunei.
