The 22nd round of the Euroleague came to an end this evening (Wednesday) with three games. Anadolu Efes returned to winning ways when they won 70:80 over Zalgiris Kovna, Elba Berlin recorded a fourth consecutive loss in the factory when they surrendered 84:102 to Monaco. In the last game of the evening, Real Madrid beat Panathinaikos 68:83.
Anadolu Efes – Zhelgiris Kovna 70:80
With two consecutive losses, the European champions hosted the Lithuanians and after a tight first quarter, took control of the game, ran away in the second quarter and kept the advantage until the end. Will Claiborne led the scorers for the winner with 19 points, Ignas Brazdeikis scored 25 for the loser. Anadolu came out of the third balance now with 11 wins and 11 losses. Zalgiris is currently in seventh place with 12 wins and 10 losses. Andolo’s victory dropped Maccabi Tel Aviv to 11th place.
Alba Berlin – Monaco 102:84
The first quarter of the game was still tight, but then the French picked up the pace and left no chance to lock the table. The two Israelis, Tamir Blatt and Yuval Sussman, advanced in the host’s top five but finished a relatively weak game with 4 and 2 points respectively. Monaco counts four consecutive victories in all competitions and is in fourth place in the table with 14 wins compared to 8 losses.
Real Madrid – Panathinaikos 68:83
The Whites left no chance for the Greeks as they led throughout the game. Gershon Yabusla led the Real scorers with 16 points. The Blancos remain in second place with their record (7:15), the same as that of the leading Olympiakos. On the other hand, Panathinaikos moves away from the top 8 with eight wins compared to 14 losses.
