Olympic champion Semyon Elistratov won the World Short Track Speed Skating Cup in Beijing.
At a distance of 1,500 m, the Russian showed a result of 2 minutes 18.285 seconds. The second place was taken by Adil Galiakhmetov from Kazakhstan (2.18.680), the third – An Kai from China (2.18.864).
Another Russian Denis Hayrapetyan finished third in the B final and finished 11th in the final protocol. Vladimir Balbekov dropped out of the fight at the quarter-finals stage.
Elistratov won gold at the 2014 Games in Sochi and bronze at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. The stage of the World Cup in Beijing has the status of a test competition before the 2022 Games. They will be held from 4 to 20 February.
