Elon Musk returns extremely direct conspiracy theorist Alex Jones with no X

Billionaire Elon Musk reinstated, this Sunday (10), the account on platform a misleading scenario, promoted by opponents of weapons.

Musk’s decision comes a year after he promised that he would never let Alex return to the network because of his questionable and controversial comments. Jones considered the shooting attack at Sandy Hook school, carried out in December 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, to be staged, where 20 children and six teachers died.

Jones was removed from the platform, then still called Twitter, for violating its “abusive behavior policy.”

But now Musk has changed his mind and authorized his return after a consultation on X, in which he asked users whether Jones should be reinstated. The survey was answered by around two million internet users.

“I completely disagree with what I said about Sandy Hook, but are we a platform that believes in freedom of expression or not?” explained the founder of aerospace company SpaceX and owner of electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla.

Jones was sued by family members of victims of the Sandy Hook attack and a judge in the case ordered, last year, that he pay more than a billion dollars (more than R$5 billion, approximately) in damages.

Musk himself had promised that he would never again allow the controversial portal Infowars to be hosted again on Twitter, the social network he bought last year for US$44 billion (more than R$235 billion), subsequently changing its name.
