the Tesla-Boss also helps in Ukraine war! After the Russian attack on its eastern neighbor, Elon Musk (50) did it Satellite Internet from his company SpaceX ready for Ukraine. But now he himself warns of his technique.

on Twitter the multi-billionaire wrote: “Important warning, Starlink is the only non-Russian communications system still functioning in some parts of Ukraine. Therefore, the probability that it will be attacked is high. Please use it with caution.”

When asked by users, Musk clarified what he meant by careful use.

He advises: “Turn on Starlink only when necessary and place the antenna as far away from people as possible.”

In addition, the Ukrainians should install camouflage over the antennas used by Musk’s company SpaceX to receive the Internet. It is also possible to color them with a thin layer of spray paint – “provided there are no metal particles in the paint”.

Musk had previously reacted with his well-known Internet humor to a tweet that quoted the head of the Russian space company Rosksomos, Dmitry Olegovich Rogozin (58).

According to the report, the former politician said at a press conference: “When Russia imposes its highest national interests on the territory of Ukraine, Elon Musk suddenly appears with his Starlink, which was previously declared as purely civilian. This is the West we should never trust.”

Alluding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine commented Musk: “Ukraine’s civilian internet had strange outages – maybe due to bad weather? That’s why SpaceX is helping to fix it.”

Researcher: “New Deadly Vulnerabilities”

The security researcher John Scott-Railton from the University of Toronto (Canada) had already warned of the possible consequences of the Musk Internet in the war.

“If Putin controls the airspace over Ukraine, users’ transmissions will become beacons for airstrikes,” wrote he. Russia has decades of experience in hitting people by targeting their satellite communications.

His conclusion: “At the beginning of a conflict with disrupted Internet, satellite Internet acts as a salvation. But it quickly leads to very real, deadly new vulnerabilities.”

Ukraine asked Musk for satellite internet

The Ukrainian Digital Minister Mykhailo Fedorov (31) asked the Tesla boss for help on Twitter last Saturday.

The politician continued: “We ask you to supply Ukraine with Starlink stations (…)” With the stations of Musk’s company SpaceX, it would be possible for Ukraine to receive Internet via satellite.”

Almost ten hours later, Musk replied: “The Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals on the way.” Already on Monday posted Minister Fedorov then pictures of Starlink stations that have arrived.

In the days that followed, the two men continued to keep in touch on Twitter. Because of the Russian attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure, the politician asked the Tesla boss if he had any ideas for powering the Internet stations.

After less than a day, Musk had a solution ready again. The Tesla boss wrote that the Starlink software had been updated so that the antennas could be operated via the cigarette lighter in the car. In addition, the antenna can now also maintain the signal while driving.

Fedorov responded with a “thank you”.
