On this day August 24, 2023, marking my visit to the General Staff of the National Gendarmerie, I found men committed and determined in the execution of the missions entrusted to them.

I salute this spirit of combativity that you are showing, particularly in this particular context of the fight against crime and terrorism where gendarmes defend, at the cost of supreme sacrifice, the integrity of our territory.
I bow to the memory of these heroes and wish a speedy recovery to those injured. Finally, I would like to reassure the Command and all the Staff of my availability and that of the Government to support the institution in the accomplishment of its noble missions.
Long live the National Gendarmerie!
