Together with Yosif Miladinov, they took care of a unique achievement. For the first time in history, Bulgaria had two finalists at the World Swimming Championships. The Plovdiv native placed 8th in the 100 meter butterfly.
“I am happy and proud that I managed to enter the final, and the sixth place itself is a bonus for me. I’m really glad that I finally met the standard for the Olympics. Competition in swimming is very high, at least 30-40 competitors in one discipline. Everyone went there with one goal – victory.
I don’t think sixth place is the icing on the cake. Yes, I had a difficult period in which many things crossed my mind, but I am glad that I did not give up and continued to fight”, Gabi shared through tears and smiles.
