AS FAR saw its career in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup come to an end despite its victory over USM Alger by 3 goals to 2 (first leg: 2-0), in the quarter-final second leg, Sunday at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

AS FAR’s goals were scored by Oussama Chita against his own side (9th), Borges Monteiro (60th) and Mohamed Rabie Hrimat from the penalty spot (90+7), while Saadi Radouani (12th) and Khaled Bousseliou (78th ) scored for visitors.

Wydad de Casablanca is, therefore, the only Moroccan club to remain in the race, after having reached the last four of the African Champions League (LDC) this weekend, unlike Raja

WAC qualified for the UCL semi-finals, beating Tanzanian club Simba by 4-3 on penalties (regular time 1-0, first leg: 1-0), in the quarter-final second leg on Friday at the Mohammed V Sports Complex.

Thanks to a goal by Senegalese Bouly Junior Sambou in the 25th minute, the Reds overcame the handicap of a goal conceded in the first leg, before dominating the penalty shootout thanks, in particular, to two saves by goalkeeper Youssef Moutai.

In the semi-finals, Wydad will face South African club Mamelodi Sundowns, who beat Algerians CR Belouizdad (2-1) on Saturday at home, confirming their first leg victory (1-4).
As mentioned above, Raja de Casablanca was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the LDC, after its white draw (0-0) against Al Ahly of Egypt, in the return match played on Saturday at the Mohammed V Sports Complex.

In the first leg, Mondher Kebaier’s men lost 2-0.
The start of the first half of the match saw heavy pressure from Casablanca’s Raja to try to take the lead and close the gap.

The Casablancan club, which missed a penalty at the end of the first half, maintained its pressure during the second period without managing to reverse the course of the match.
Al Ahly will face Espérance de Tunis in the semi-finals, which qualified at the expense of the Algerians of JS Kabylie.
