Erode: Erode won the trophy in the under-19 division at the state level five-a-side football tournament in Hosur.
Hosur, Krishnagiri district hosted a two-day state-level five-a-side football tournament. Of these, competitions were held in five categories for those aged 9,12,14,16,19. 100 teams participated with 20 teams each in each division.
Footballers from Erode, Coimbatore, Trichy, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Salem and Bangalore, Karnataka participated in the event.
In the final match of the 19-year-old division, Hosur and Erode Hawks clashed and Erode won 3-for-2. The winning team was presented with a trophy and the best players were awarded medals and certificates.
