EU Member States agree on a plan to reduce their consumption

The twenty-seven Energy Ministers reached an agreement on Tuesday to reduce their dependence on Russian gas.

European Union member states on Tuesday approved a coordinated reduction plan for their gas consumption to reduce their dependence on Moscow, after another drastic drop in Russian deliveries, the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU announced.

«It was not an impossible mission! The energy ministers (of the 27 meeting in Brussels) have reached a political agreement on the reduction of gas demand in anticipation of next winter“, announced the twitter account of the Czech Presidency.
