This week, the Central District Committee approved a master plan for a construction eviction project of the Rothstein Company between Einstein, Ben Hakon and Yiftach divisions in Lod. As part of the project, 60 old apartments will be demolished and 467 new housing units will be built in their place.

Today, there are 3 old H-shaped buildings and another 4 small 2-story train buildings in the complex. These buildings will be demolished and replaced by a new neighborhood that includes 3 10-story buildings, one 17-story tower and 3 24-story towers. The purpose of the plan approved by the committee is to develop the complex as an active urban fabric with a mix of uses and a variety of different activities such as a combination of trade and employment, public institutions and allocation to open public areas. The complex was designed by architect Nir Chen from Chen Architects.

Itai Smadar, Rothstein’s VP of Urban Renewal said: “The Einstein project is a testament to the spirit of the City of Lod and the desire of the Municipality of Lod to promote urban renewal projects in the city. “Within two and a half years, the project plan was approved by the Central District Committee and within a period of up to a year and a half, we will start building the new neighborhood, which includes, in addition to the construction of residential buildings, public areas, commerce and employment.”

Rothstein Real Estate is a public company that has been active for over 60 years, and since its establishment has been involved in the initiation and implementation of large residential projects throughout the country. Rothstein has built and is building residential neighborhoods in Netanya, Beer Yaakov, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan Yona, Or Akiva, etc. The company has been traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange since 1993.
