Evanescence Announces New album for 2026, Extensive World Tour
Evanescence, led by the iconic Amy Lee, is gearing up for a notable new chapter, confirming the release of a new studio album in 2026 – the follow-up to their 2021 release, The Bitter Truth. The announcement, coupled with plans for a massive world tour, signals a period of renewed momentum for the band.
During a conversation with Kevin Ryder at the KROQ Almost Acoustic christmas 2025 event in Los Angeles, Lee shared insights into the upcoming record. “Next year, let’s put it that way,” she stated, adding, “There are still a few lyrics to write, but it’s going really well and I’m really excited.”
2025 proved to be a busy year for Evanescence, marked by the release of new singles and high-profile concert appearances. Notably, the band served as the opening act for Metallica during their Australian and New Zealand tour, an experience Lee described as “amazing” and “really, really well” received.
The momentum will continue into 2026, with the album release and a world tour featuring support from Poppy, Spiritbox, Nova Twins, and K.Flay. According to sources, the group is poised for one of its most impactful periods in recent years.
Lee emphasized the inspiration gained from recent experiences, stating, “This year has been incredibly inspiring on so many levels, creating so much new music, playing shows that were on our bucket list, and collaborating with artists who nourish us. We’re taking all this energy and inspiration to build an epic 2026 for our fans.”

I’m so excited to reveal what we’re working on and experience this incredible tour.”
The experience of opening for Metallica in Australia was notably memorable. Lee recounted, “Touring with Metallica in Australia was incredible. Playing in stadiums in front of huge crowds was just pure fun,” though she admitted to initial nerves. “I admit that there was a little stress at the beginning, playing before one of the biggest metal bands in the world. But very quickly, we felt at home. This was clearly our audience.”
