Washington: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that Ukraine has plans to ensure the continuation of the government, even if Russia assassinates Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky. Blinken made the revelation in a press conference. Blinken said he had visited Ukraine and met with Foreign Minister Dmitry Culeba and that Ukraine had one way or another to keep the government in power.
But he declined to divulge other details. In an interview, Blinken also praised Volodymyr Selensky’s leadership qualities. Blinken said Selensky was the personification of a brave Ukrainian people.
Selensky has reportedly survived at least three assassination attempts since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The assassination attempt failed after Ukrainian officials received a stern warning. According to the report, the Wagner group and the Chechen rebels sent teams to assassinate the president.
