EVKS Ilangovan’s father won the by-election in Erode East Assembly Constituency following the death of his son who was the MLA. After winning, he accepted the post of MLA. His father EVKS Ilangovan contested and won the by-election following the death of his son Evera, who was the MLA of Erode East Assembly Constituency. Subsequently, he accepted the post as MLA in the presence of Speaker Appa in the Chief Secretariat.
