Is this the end of the French honeymoon with their public services? To say so would be an exaggeration. But the latest edition of the barometer of the Paul Delouvrier Institute, which measures the satisfaction of users of public services and which “Les Echos” publishes exclusively, reports a deterioration in their opinion after a continuum of improvement which started before the Covid and has continued since.
“There is a halt, even a marked decline in almost all public services, we are at a tipping point,” warns Guillaume Caline, director of public issues and opinion at Kantar Public, who carried out the survey at the end of October-beginning of November with a representative sample of 2,500 people aged 15 and over.
