jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the Forum to Save Democracy and Reform (F-PDR) Admiral TNI (Ret.) Bernard Kent Sondakh responded to the announcement of the 2024 Election results by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Wednesday (20/3/2024) evening.

He believes that the 2024 elections, especially the presidential election, have lost their moral legitimacy, so that whatever the results are, they are no longer credible.

“Therefore, what the KPU announced must be challenged at the Constitutional Court,” said Bernard Kent Sondakh in a release received by JPNN, Thursday (21/3/2024).

The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) for the 2002-2005 period then highlighted the loss of moral legitimacy of the candidacy of Gibran Rakabumung Raka who passed as vice presidential candidate (cawapres) due to Constitutional Court Decree No. 90 of 2023 even though he was only 36 years old.

“As a result of MK Decision No. 90/2023, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman, who is none other than Gibran’s uncle, was given heavy ethical sanctions by the MKMK (Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court, ed.) and was even fired from the position of Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court. “This means that Gibran’s advancement as vice presidential candidate is morally flawed,” he explained.

Likewise, said Kent, all KPU commissioners, including the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Hasyim Asyari, were given severe ethical sanctions, even as the final sanction, by the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) for accepting Gibran’s registration without first revising the relevant KPU regulations.

“This means that Gibran’s registration as vice presidential candidate was also colored by the moral defects of all KPU commissioners. If the age and registration requirements are morally flawed, how can the results of the 2024 presidential election be accepted? The results of the 2024 presidential election which are characterized by moral flaws mean that they have lost their moral legitimacy. “Because of that, it must be sued to the Constitutional Court,” he stressed.

Because the results of the 2024 presidential election have lost their moral legitimacy, said F-PDR General Chair Marshal TNI (Purn) Agus Supriatna, adding that what the KPU announces is legally obligated to be considered non-existent.
