Morena’s candidate for councilor of Benito Juárez, Hugo Torres, was arrested in the streets of the Portales neighborhood, for alleged homicide.
The arrest of the candidate was confirmed by the president of Morena in Mexico City, Sebastián Ramírez Mendoza, who asked not to politicize and investigate the case to determine responsibilities.
The arrest was recorded on the morning of April 25, after a fight in a building located on Emperadores Street, almost on the corner of Canarias Street.

According to first reports, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) arrived at the home in the Portales neighborhood after a report of a fight.
Paramedics who attended the scene confirmed the death of a 37-year-old man, so the area was cordoned off and the Public Ministry agent was notified for expert services and investigations of the case.
Meanwhile, a woman and a man, both 39 years old, were detained at the scene, who remained at the disposal of the ministerial authorities for the corresponding investigations and to determine their legal situation.
