A celebrated tradition continues in Fabriano, Italy, as the 52nd Chamber Music Season, curated by the local section of Musical Youth Italy, prepares to unfold from February 21 to April 24, 2026, at the Oratory of Charity.This season promises a compelling blend of established artistry and the spotlighting of rising performers.
For over half a century, the Fabriano Chamber Music Season has cultivated a reputation for artistic integrity. “The festival has developed a coherent path based on musical quality, the centrality of the repertoire and a targeted choice of performers,” a festival representative stated. This dedication to quality is evident in the carefully selected lineup for the upcoming season.
A Season of Firsts and Acclaimed Artists
The season will launch on Saturday, February 21, with a performance by the Goldberg Quartet, a group recognized in 2024 with the prestigious “A Life in Music – Young People” Award. Their program, titled “equilibrium in metamorphosis,” explores the dynamic interplay between stability and transformation within the string quartet format, promising a nuanced and compelling musical experience.
March brings a series of captivating performances. On March 7, violinist Aozhe Zhang, fresh off a First Prize win at the 2025 Niccolò Paganini International Competition in Genoa, will take the stage alongside pianist Beini Xie. This concert offers a rare possibility to witness the artistry of a rapidly ascending star on the international stage.
The following week, on march 14, Trio Mirages – comprised of claudia Piga (flute), Federica Colombo (cello), and Morgana Rudan (harp) – will present “Music from the near past.” The trio, winners of First prize at the VII International Competition “Diapason d’oro” in Pordenone, will delve into 20th and 21st-century compositions, emphasizing timbre, articulation, and instrumental synergy.
Exploring Sound and Dialogue Through Duets
March continues with a focus on intimate pairings. On March 21, the Duo Angeletti – Torresetti will perform “Resonances / Risonanze,” a program designed to highlight the direct relationship between viola and piano. The performance emphasizes precision and attentive listening, stripping away unnecessary layers to reveal the intrinsic qualities of sound.
On March 28, pianist Sebastiano Brusco will present a solo recital centered around Schubert’s Impromptu No. 90, interwoven with a broader exploration of Chopin’s works. The program aims to present these pieces not as isolated compositions, but as interconnected parts of a larger narrative arc.
April 11 will feature harpist Maria Chiara Cannelli in a program titled “Images.” Cannelli’s performance will move beyond the customary decorative role of the harp, focusing instead on articulation, resonance control, and precise technique to showcase the instrument’s structural and expressive capabilities.

The 52nd season will culminate on April 24 with a performance by the Duo Mencarelli – Fabrizi.Baritone Matteo Mencarelli and pianist Michele Fabrizi will explore the interplay between word and music in a program of chamber vocal repertoire, aiming to capture the genre’s most intimate and essential qualities.
