Jakarta – Badminton Indonesia has reshuffled its men’s doubles pairings, committing to Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri for two upcoming tournaments while pairing Muhammad Rian Ardianto with Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob rambitan. The move aims to solidify winning combinations and explore new potential within the national team.

The duo of Fajar alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri are set to compete in the China Masters Super 750, scheduled for September 16-21, and the Korea Open Super 500, from September 23-28.

Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan will also participate in these same two events,marking a new combination for the national federation.

Indonesian men’s doubles coach Antonius Budi Ariantho explained that the decision to keep Fajar/Fikri together stems from their recent strong performances, including a title win at the China Open 2025. The aim is to assess their consistency at the top level.

Assessing Consistency and New Partnerships

Antonius Budi Ariantho stated, “Yesterday, we saw Fajar/Fikri’s performance in the Japan and China Opens was quite good. I want to see them again to determine if they can consistently compete at the top level.”

Regarding the new pairing, he added, “Similarly for Rian/Jeremia, the trial status for two tournaments first. I want to see how they fare. Ther’s still room to experiment.”

The trial program for these pairs is slated to continue until the end of the year. Anton expressed his hope that Fajar/Fikri’s positive momentum can be maintained and shared with other pairings.

Before heading to the China Masters, Fajar alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto are scheduled to represent their country at the 2025 badminton World Championship in France. this prestigious event will take place from August 25-31.
