The Central General Staff of the dissidents of ‘Iván Mordisco’ issued a statement threatening more attacks against the military forces.

The statement, issued this Sunday, addresses the regional suspension of the ceasefire decreed by President Gustavo Petro on March 17.

In the text, the dissidents warn citizens about the military presence and urge them to stay away from patrols, battalions and police stations, as well as avoid sleeping in these places or boarding military transport.

“Given the attack against our Western Blocks Jacobo Arenas, Central Block Isaías Pardo and other units in national territory, we ask citizens in national territory not to be near military patrols, battalions, police stations or any other armed unit of the Government. , do not sleep in these places, do not get on military transport (…) do not be less than 500 meters from these facilities or military convoys, do not travel through abandoned guerrilla camps, the last thing we want is that in this fratricidal war that has been imposed on us civilians fall,” says the dissidents’ statement.

Likewise, the dissidents accuse Petro’s government of being “deaf” to their demands and urge him to reestablish the temporary bilateral ceasefire at the national level. However, they criticize that the government continues with generalized attacks and insults towards the command, which, according to them, worsens the conflict.

«We tell Gustavo Petro that only with the silence of the weapons can we hear each other«says the statement. «It is necessary to restore the temporary bilateral ceasefire of a national nature. On the part of the Government, it should end the attacks and not give the enemies of peace the opportunity to escalate the war.
