In the United States, there are serious concerns about coordinated terrorist attacks in public places, which over the past decade have been viewed by law enforcement as an extremely remote threat, FBI Director Christopher Wray said, Day.Az reports, citing Interfax.

“We are increasingly concerned about the possibility of some kind of coordinated attack here at home, which may not be much different from what you saw in a concert hall in Russia a few weeks ago,” he said in an interview with NBC.

The TV channel noted that the head of the FBI again stated that “recently the threat of terrorism is the highest (…), especially from individuals or small groups” within the country.

It is noted that Ray “was categorical” in answer to the question of whether the TikTok application poses a danger to US national security.

He said national security officials are concerned that TikTok gives Chinese intelligence agencies “the ability to collect data, control the recommendation algorithm, which means the ability to promote the ideas of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), downplay criticism of the Chinese government, and, in essence, attract millions of users to as unwitting supporters of CCP propaganda.”

The head of the FBI added that in this way the Chinese government has “the ability to control software that makes it possible to technically compromise devices, phones, millions and millions of phones.”
