FC Bayern Munich defeated Bremer SV in the DFB Cup in round 1

Lewandowski substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting shot FC Bayern Munich into the second round of the DFB Cup. The 32-year-old attacker scored a total of four times for the record cup winners in an effortless 12-0 (5-0) win against the fifth division club Bremer SV on Wednesday evening.

In the eighth minute, Choupo-Moting opened the scoring for the guests, who in addition to star striker Lewandowski, national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka had stayed in Munich. After Jamal Musiala (16th) and Bremen’s Jan-Luca Warm (27th) increased to 3-0 with an own goal, Choupo-Moting made the break with two more goals (28th, 35th).

“The way it was done was important,” commented Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann on the win at Sport1. “I think the structure wasn’t quite like that in the first half,” he said and referred to the Bremen counterattack. In the second half, his team “did better”. Choupo-Moting received special praise for his game: “That’s okay!”
