The election of Bangladesh Film Artists Association will be held on April 19. Film related people are also interested in the election of the organization. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of the Artists’ Association has requested the members of other associations, including the Film Producers, Directors’ Association, located in the FDC, except the Artists’ Association, not to enter the FDC on the day of the election. Many have expressed anger at such a decision.
Film director Safi Uddin Safi expressed his anger on the social handle. He wrote on his Facebook, ‘Artists who stand like statues until a director calls for action are the same who are banning directors from entering the FDC today, how wonderful!’ Film producer-director Feroze Khan Prince commented on Safi’s post. He wrote, I was ashamed last time, I did not think that I will be ashamed this year too. What are our leaders saying?
Yasir Arafat Jewel wrote in the comments, bro these artistes should be banned from FDC. They don’t think that those who were doing this last time couldn’t enter FDC, their future will be like that brother. Condemnation against those who consider FDC as their father’s property.
Director Bulbul Biswas wrote in a Facebook post, ‘It seems that the artists association has forgotten that directors are the fathers of acting artists. It’s time to make them remember that.’
Director Sajjad Khan wrote, ‘Is BFDC considering the property of the father-in-law’s house or someone! FDC is not for any organization. This time they are showing this courage because there was no proper protest last time. FDC election is a meeting of old and new. Those who try to spoil this beautiful environment are the main enemies of the movie. If any political leader has a phone, let his name be disclosed. Let the nation recognize who is the leader.’
A letter signed by Khorshed Alam Khosru, chairman of the election commission of the association, has informed that no one but the voters of the association should enter on the polling day in order to conduct the election properly.
It is said in the letter, for kind information, it is being informed that ‘on April 15 afternoon, an emergency meeting of the managing director of BFDC, law and order forces and the election board was held in the meeting room of BFDC in order to complete the elections of Bangladesh Film Artists Association 2024-2026 properly. According to the decision taken in the meeting, the election for the 2024-2026 term of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association will be held on April 19 in the study room of the artists association inside the BFDC. On the occasion of the said election, it is being requested not to enter the interior of BFDC except for the voters of Shilpi Samiti.
Apart from this, it was also informed that a mobile mobile court will be set up in FDC on election day to maintain law and order.
