[post_content] => [vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The purpose of the project is to inform, guide and support directly and indirectly the community on issues related to mental health in general, child and adolescent mental health, mental health of older people and suicide prevention, among others, from basic knowledge to emergency support, if applicable: how to do, what is happening, what to do, where to go… In addition, different information points, located in different rural locations where people can go with any questions or concerns regarding various information about mental health. Support will be included for families and, especially, for people who act as primary caregivers. Different workshops will also be carried out and awareness campaigns focused on the elderly, women, the fight against stigma in mental health, suicide prevention, training for professionals in different fields, and preventive talks on mental health in schools and institutes. We will work based on two lines of action:

  • Actions aimed at the acquisition and/or development of skills and competencies through primary preventive activities: promotion, awareness and specialized training.
  • Primary preventive actions linked to the possible detection of mental health problems and their orientation towards health and/or community services.

The project will be carried out in a minimum of 20 towns located in the province of Badajoz with less than 5,000 inhabitants and in more than 5 with 1,000 inhabitants.

The FEAFES Mental Health Extremadura Federation launches the ‘Rural Support in Mental Health’ project, financed by the Badajoz Provincial Council, which will consist of bringing mental health closer to the rural areas of the province of Badajoz.

The purpose of the project is to inform, guide and support directly and indirectly the community on issues related to mental health in general, child and adolescent mental health, mental health of older people and suicide prevention, among others, from basic knowledge to emergency support, if applicable: how to do, what’s happening, what to do, where to go…

In addition, different information pointslocated in different rural locations where people can go with any questions or concerns regarding various information about mental health.
