Following this, a group of DMK MPs, including Siva, Abdullah and Kalanithi, met Foreign Minister Jaishankar in New Delhi yesterday to seek the federal government’s permission to travel to Ukraine’s neighboring countries. We met Foreign Minister Jaishankar to discuss the rescue of Indians. Jaisankar told us about the steps taken so far to rescue the Indians trapped there.

In this situation, the next step will be taken in consultation with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, he said.

Commenting on the meeting, Foreign Ministry sources said that in the context of the war in Ukraine, foreign officials are being pressured. Already, four Union Ministers are staying in Ukraine’s neighboring countries to oversee the rescue operation. What can Tamil Nadu MPs do by going there?
