The installation ceremony of incoming and outgoing CNRD ministers continues in Conakry.

Led by the Secretary General of the Government, Mr. Benoît Kamano, the day of this Saturday, March 16, 2024 was devoted to the handover of several Ministries including that of Transport.

At the Department of Transport, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, government spokesperson, the honor fell to the outgoing Félix Lamah to display his achievements, showing his gratitude to the President of the Republic and congratulating his incoming counterpart.

“Among the achievements of 2023 that I would like to briefly mention, we can cite the launch of work to modernize and extend the Ahmed Sékou Touré international airport, which is gradually beginning to give a new face to our country; the launch of reconstruction work on the four airfields of Labé, Kankan, Faranah and N’zérékoré; the finalization of the business plan for the future Air-Guinea airline, now available. All that remains is to launch, and this year we can launch our new airline, the renewal of all security equipment at Ahmed Sékou Touré international airport, which is gradually being transformed. And the order for new strategic air navigation equipment which will be delivered in the coming weeks to our country, to ensure better air navigation; the acquisition of naval assets for the Guinean naval company including a 350-seat ship to provide service to the Conakry-Kamsar line in the days to come(…),” recalled the now new Minister of Agriculture and Breeding.

In his speech for the occasion, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, now the new Minister of Transport, upon arriving at the head of this strategic department, said he was aware, upon arriving at the ministry, of the challenges to be met.

“My predecessor, Félix Lamah, has already opened important paths with his teams by entrusting me with the responsibility of leading this essential ministry of Transport, which constitutes an essential link for all the socio-economic actors of the nation by putting in relation to national and international socio-economic activities. Faced with this portfolio which is so important to the nation, it is essential to find a fair balance for the good of all Guineans. The importance given to this mission demonstrates our collective desire to improve transport,” said Minister Ousmane Gaoual Diallo.

Among other challenges of the spokesperson for the new CNRD Government, it is to invest more in order to make the port more attractive in the sub-region, with emphasis on the development of other conventional ports as well as mining ports.
