Fermín Aldeguer’s future looks red. Although the World Cup season has not yet started, the premier class factories have already launched all their negotiating machinery to attract new talents from Moto2, and Aldeguer is, today, the most coveted rider among the young promises who aspire to reach MotoGP.
At 18 years old, the La Ñora driver completed a 2023 to mark, especially in the last half of the season. Fermín did not get off the podium between Indonesia and Valencia, and in four of these six races he scored the victoryadding a total of five wins that led the Murcian to finish third in the Moto2 general classification.
In fact, Fermín’s spectacular closing campaign earned him the attention of several MotoGP factories; There was a lot of talk about Honda -despite the fact that Alberto Puig ended up denying it-, and in the PRAMAC Racing environment there was also interest in knowing what plans Aldeguer had in 2024 if the signing of Franco Morbidelli was not finally consolidated.
In the end, despite the calls and meetings, Fermín did not have a clear project to race in MotoGP, and he chose to continue gaining experience in Moto2 with his team, Speed Up Racing, with the goal set in the title for 2024.
Now, at the start of the IRTA test in Sepang, the Ducati Corse leadership has confirmed its interest in signing the Spanish rider for 2025. Davide Tardozzi, Team Manager of the Lenovo Ducati Team, said this in a talk for the official website Motogp.com: “Fermín Aldeguer is a very fast boy, last year he showed his potential, and he is also very young. I think everyone is thinking about him and trying to sign him. We are already in talks, we have reached a good point although nothing is closed yet. We’ll see what his choice is.”
Gigi Dall’Inga, the person in charge of the Ducati racing department, has made it clear that, for now, “we have not signed any contract with him”but Borgo Panigale see Aldeguer as a potential signing for next year: “Of course Aldeguer is one of the drivers of the future, for us he is an interesting driver,” Aclara Dental.

Fermín’s fate is still not entirely clear; to consolidate his signing for Ducati, we could see the La Ñora pilot keeping one of the Desmosedici of the PRAMAC teamperhaps that of Jorge Martín, who has already expressed his desire to join the official Ducati team in 2025 or will begin to listen to serious offers from other manufacturers, for example Yamaha or even Honda.
