The Salvadoran Soccer Federation (FESFUT), stated in a statement that it terminated the Reserve and Women’s Soccer Championships for the 2022-2023 period.
“FESFUT, as the regulatory body for Salvadoran soccer, and the First Division League, as organizer of the Reserve and Women’s Soccer Championships, have carried out an analysis of the feasibility of continuing or concluding the Reserve and Women’s Soccer Championships corresponding to the period 2022-2023”, the FESFUT said in a statement.
According to the federation, it declared the 2022-2023 Championship void in the reserve men’s soccer and women’s soccer categories, without awarding the title of champion to any team in either of the two categories.
“For the purposes of representing the women’s club, which will attend the 2023 UNCAF Tournament and in consultation with representatives of said organization, the champion team of the opening tournament will be the one that will attend that tournament, that is, the team of Santa Tecla Fútbol Club”, mentioned the FESFUT.
