“We also ensure that the products are of the required quality,” he indicated on the sidelines of the meeting of the Interministerial Commission for monitoring and monitoring the state of market supply and prices, held Friday at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior in Rabat, in anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan and which also took part, by videoconference, the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, governor of the prefecture of Fez, Said Zniber, and the heads of external services.
Mr. Frindo also underlined the need to strengthen distribution and production circuits to combat possible speculation phenomena in order to guarantee that these products are within the reach of consumers during the holy month.
Control operations must be permanent, he insisted, while noting their intensification before and during the month of Ramadan to guarantee good quality of widely consumed food products.
The manager also expressed the growing enthusiasm of consumers during this holy month for certain products such as eggs, milk, red and white meats and fruits and vegetables, recalling that these products are available in sufficient quantities. on the market.
This expanded meeting takes place to focus on the market supply situation and prices in anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan, assess the results of surveillance activities, strengthen market control and fight firmly against all forms of speculation. and price manipulation and any illegal practice likely to hinder the normal functioning of markets and harm the health and safety of citizens, the rights of consumers and their purchasing power, according to a press release from the Ministry of ‘Interior.
Concerning the supply situation of national markets, it appears from the data presented by the heads of the ministerial departments and establishments concerned and from the conclusions of field research carried out in the different prefectures and provinces, that the supply of markets with different products of consumption remains “normal” and that available stocks, forecast production and the supply expected to be available in the coming weeks will make it possible to satisfy the needs in terms of consumption of different basic products during the holy month of Ramadan and the months to come , adds the press release.
