The FFA has the status of all Armenian football players playing in Ukraine, and in the case of Artur Avagimyan, the difficulty lies in the fact that the latter is only a citizen of Ukraine, this was reported by the Football Federation of Armenia in response to ArmSport’s inquiry.
To remind, the midfielder of Ukrainian “Alexandria” Artur Avagimyan, in an interview with ArmSport, mentioned earlier that no one from the Football Federation of Armenia contacted him due to the war situation created in Ukraine.
“The Football Federation of Armenia contacted Artur Avagimyan through his scout living in Russia. In the case of Artur Avagimyan, the difficulty lies in the fact that the latter is only a citizen of Ukraine, and under the current situation, the exit of Ukrainian citizens from the country is prohibited and not possible,” FFA said in response to ArmSport’s inquiry.
The Football Federation of Armenia also emphasized that the FFA is aware of the status of all Armenian footballers playing in Ukraine, but can provide assistance only in cases where they are citizens of the Republic of Armenia and have an Armenian passport.
“FFA is constantly in contact with the RA Embassy in Ukraine. It was through the mediation and efforts of the FFA and the President Armen Melikbekan himself, as well as the direct assistance of the RA Embassy in Ukraine, that it was possible to safely bring the defender of the Armenian national team Zhirayr Margaryan to Poland, from where he was later able to arrive in Armenia.
Let’s note once again that the FFA can provide assistance only in those cases when they are citizens of the Republic of Armenia and have an Armenian passport,” explained the football federation.
