Kollam: NK Premachandran MP wants Finance Minister KN Balagopal to clarify the issue of GST arrears. He also alleged that the finance minister is trying to cover up the mistakes. The Finance Minister said till yesterday that he did not get the due share from the Centre. The same was said by the CPIM leaders and the Chief Minister. But Premachandran criticized that this position has changed after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s reply.
His question was about IGST. He says that he is not getting the goods and services tax he deserves in the state. The State Finance Minister should reply to this. There is no point in saying that BJP has been given a stick to beat when things are pointed out. How can you ask for GST compensation when you say 20 percent GST growth has been achieved? NK Premachandran also asked whether the state has nothing to do in submitting the audit statement to the Centre.
He also criticized the manner in which the questioner was attacked when the Union Minister replied. The state finance minister and CPIM cadres are trying to silence him. He is ready to issue a privilege motion notice if he finds that what the central government has said in Parliament is wrong. But NK Premachandran said that the state government should convince itself that what Nirmala Sitharaman said was wrong.
