Finn Schjøll’s husband Knut Bakke fell over:

by time news

In recent years, TV 2 has shown the program “Sofa” where well-known and loved ones watch TV and talk about what they see. The concept is simple, and has clearly struck a chord with the Norwegian population.

Finn Schjøll (75) and his husband Knut Bakke (80) are among the famous faces who have appeared in the programme. In November, the couple were busy with a TV recording, and sat together at home in their living room.

– It’s not possible!

Then things went wrong.

Schjøll’s husband suddenly passed out, and told that he was about to fall, writes Tønsbergs Blad.

– Knut says to me: “Now I’m falling”, and I say: “No Knut, now we’re on TV”. I didn’t quite understand what Knut said in a way, but in the next second I understood the seriousness, explains Schjøll to the newspaper.

According to Blomster-Finn, the TV team that was present during the incident must have reacted lightning fast.

– I tell them that they must call 113, and we get instructions over the phones right away. Knut is gone. He has suffered a cardiac arrest and is actually dead. I didn’t have time to reflect on it, but it was just to act. The TV ladies were very good, and one of them started cardiac compressions at the same time as we had 113 on the line, says the 75-year-old.

On Thursday, Dagbladet tried to reach Finn Schjøll about the matter, who has not responded to our inquiries.

Speaking out after the stroke

It didn’t take long before the ambulances were on the scene – Schjøll describes the session as very effective.

After life-saving help in the home, Bakke was transported to the Hospital in Vestfold for further treatment. In front of Tønsbergs Blad, he praises the doctors for the work they did.

– I didn’t wake up until I was in the hospital, and then I had my life back. The healthcare system has been top notch. Really great. The doctors were good and did their part and everything has been very good, he says.
