The Mahindra 400 Electric SUV will be Mahindra’s first electric SUV and will be pitted against the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV. Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV has been launched in the Indian market. The Mahindra XUV 400 EV will be the company’s first electric SUV and will go up against the likes of the Tata Nexon SUV, which has dominated the segment for quite some time.

The new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is priced at around Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra XUV 400 EV Indian launch event was streamed live on the company’s YouTube page last night (September 8).

Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV India Introduction: Design

The XUV400 is Mahindra’s first EV to feature the Twin Peaks logo with a satin copper finish. Test drives for the vehicle will begin from December 2022 and bookings will begin from the first week of January 2023 at Mahindra dealerships and online.

Deliveries of the XUV400 are scheduled to begin by the end of January 2023. In the first phase, the car will be available in a total of 16 cities namely Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Jaipur, Surat, Nagpur, Thiruvananthapuram, Nashik, Chandigarh and Kochi.

The Mahindra XUV400 will be in the C segment SUV segment. The XUV400 is 4200 mm longer than the XUV300 and has a wheelbase of 2600 mm. It offers a boot space of 378 litres/418 liters (up to roof). At 1821 mm, it is the widest e-SUV in the category.

Performance The XUV400 is the first Indian passenger vehicle in the non-luxury segment to have high-speed acceleration. This car reaches 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 150 kmph.

A fully charged XUV400 will give a mileage of 456 km as per Indian Driving Cycle Standards (MIDC). A 39.4kW battery pack with state-of-the-art Li-ion cells is used in this car. 80% charging in 50 minutes with a 50kW DC fast charger.

A 0-100% charge takes 6 hours 30 minutes when charging via a 7.2 kW/32A outlet, and a full charge in 13 hours when using a standard 3.3 kW/16A domestic socket. The XUV400 comes with shiny alloy-wheels with signature trim in Satin Copper finish.
