The team based in Doha communicated, on its social networks, the arrival of the former coach of Paris Saint-Germain (2022-23). In contact with Naples this summer or with Marseille at the end of September, Galtier will have his first experience abroad as number 1.
He was already assistant to Richard Tardy at Aris Salonika (Greece) then to Alain Perrin at Al-Aïn (United Arab Emirates) and Portsmouth (England). He also played for a season at Monza (Italy) then at Lioaning Yuandong (China) at the end of his playing career. At Al Duhail, Galtier will take over from Hernan Crespo, at the head of a team fourth in his championship after five days and engaged in the Asian Champions League after winning the championship last year.
He will have under his command the Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho and some former Ligue 1 players, such as Ibrahima Diallo (ex-Brest) and Isaac Lihadji (ex-Marseille and Lille).
