First publication: A former international basketball star was arrested this evening (Thursday) at a police checkpoint near Jerusalem, following suspicion of possessing tens of grams of drugs.

The basketball player, who has been living in Israel for the past few years and retired from active play several years ago, was taken for questioning at one of the district’s police stations. Tomorrow morning, the police are expected to bring him to a detention extension hearing at the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court.
