Fosen Yard is bankrupt – 132 employees will lose their jobs

– This has been in the cards, we have been working on solutions for quite some time, says managing director Anders Straumsheim in Fosen Yard to E24.

The shipyard has had two projects underway that have developed negatively, especially the last one has contributed to an accumulated deficit the shipyard has not been able to find a solution for, says Straumsheim.

Fosen Yard has had a dialogue with the bank, shipping companies and suppliers, but they were unable to find solutions that could avert bankruptcy. According to trustee Ronald Eriksen Brevik, the debt is around NOK 100 million.

Brevik says that the 132 employees will be made redundant by the bankruptcy estate. In a few days, an information meeting will be held where the employees will receive information about the process.

– The paradox is that we are sitting on agreements of intent and agreements that are significant, and we have ongoing projects that suffer from this stoppage. And we have projects that are coming in very soon, so we hope we will find solutions to that, he says.

It is the operating company Fosen Yard that has filed for bankruptcy. The property company and the holding company consist.
