Honda EV SUVs: Honda is set to launch two new electric vehicles E:NS2 and E:NP2 in international markets.
Honda Electric Vehicle:
Honda unveiled three electric SUV concepts at last year’s Shanghai Motor Show. In this case, Honda’s two models, E:NS2 and E:NP2, will soon go on sale, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has informed. These electric SUVs, which are soon to go on sale in the international market, have almost all the features except for the lights and bumpers.
Honda E:NS2, E:NP2: Design:
Like the e:NS1 and e:NP1 EVs, which will soon go on sale in the China automobile market, the E:NS2 and E:NP2 will be manufactured by Dongfeng and GAC respectively. However, unlike the HR-V-based e:NS1 and e:NP1 where the color of the charging port and the grill were identical, the E:NS2 and E:NP2 have more of a difference. The e:NS2 sports angular LED daytime running lamps reminiscent of Peugeot cars. Meanwhile the e:NP2 resembles new Hondas like the latest Civic sold abroad.
A common similarity for both EV SUVs is the presence of wide horizontal bars on the front and rear bumpers of these new car models. It makes those bits look like high-tech air conditioning units. The sloping rear roof gives both models a crossover-like appearance rather than a typical upright SUV.
Honda E:NS2, E:NP2: Battery, Dimensions:
Honda’s new EV SUVs get a single motor that produces 204hp from a 68.8kWh battery. Both the models share the same wheelbase, width and height measurements at 2,735mm, 1,840mm and 1,570mm respectively. At 1mm longer the NP2 is a bigger car.
Honda EVs for India:
There is no word on whether Honda will bring these two models to India. However, the Japanese brand’s ACE (Asian Compact Electric) project is in full swing to develop an Elevate-based EV. The Elevate-based electric vehicle is expected to be launched in India by 2026.
