Four-day work week or unlimited vacation

by time news

Czechs would like a four-day work week, flexible working hours and unlimited holidays. Most employees want to achieve a work-life balance. This follows from a survey by the Ipsos agency and the company Welcome to the Jungle.

Salary, productivity and loyalty

Flexible work has a positive effect on the well-being of employees, who are then, according to the survey, more productive and at the same time more loyal to the employer.

For the vast majority of Czech employees, the basic criteria for a good feeling at work traditionally remains the salary, which is in the first place for 95 percent of the respondents. A similar percentage of employees emphasize a good relationship with superiors.

The responsibility they have in a given job position is becoming more and more important for people. While 73 percent of respondents considered it important in 2021, this year it was already 82 percent.

Work and free time

At the same time, the number of employees who emphasize combining work and free time is growing in the Czech Republic. During the covid-19 pandemic, they proved that it was possible. They liked working from home. Two-thirds of people who had a so-called home office during the coronavirus epidemic would like to continue it. On the other hand, a fixed regime suits those who have not yet tried working from home.

70 percent of people would like to try a shorter working week, but only every fifth employee has practical experience with it. Only eight percent of people have tried flexible working hours and longer holidays.

“The unlimited number of days of paid vacation is an attraction for almost two-thirds of employees. This benefit is not very widespread in our country yet,” the authors commented on the results of the study.

People increasingly perceive the positive effects of flexible work on life. Thanks to it, more than three-quarters of employees feel more well-being, two-thirds describe an increase in their own productivity and efficiency in the performance of tasks. “People feel more like a part of the company, and that’s why they stay longer as employees,” adds the survey.
