Today, Friday, the Federal Integrity Commission announced the arrest of four defendants, including an official in the Anbar municipalities.
A statement by the Commission, received by the (INA), said: “The staff of the Federal Integrity Commission in Anbar Governorate were able, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to implement the arrest warrant issued against a municipal official and three employees there, for committing the crime of embezzlement.”
The statement indicated that “a team composed of the Anbar Investigation Office moved to the Habbaniya Municipality Directorate, and carried out investigation work, gathering evidence, following up and investigating the issue of the acquisition of the difference amounts disbursed to (249) contract holders within the differences in the years (2019 and 2021), in addition to the acquisition.” On a portion of the Eidiya funds that were disbursed to (413) employees and contractors.”
The statement added, “The Director of Accounts of the Habbaniya Municipality and three of its accountants did not distribute these amounts in a proper manner, and that the signatures affixed to the money distribution lists do not belong to the actual beneficiaries,” warning that “the judge of the investigative court specialized in looking into integrity cases in Ramadi was An arrest warrant has been issued against the municipality’s accounts director and accountants in accordance with the provisions of Article (315) of the Penal Code and in accordance with Subscription Articles 47, 48 and 49.”
