Savoie, France – Seven healthcare facilities in the Savoie department have earned the “Maison France santé” label, a new designation recognizing primary care structures committed to improving access to care. This initiative, launched to bolster multi-professional healthcare frameworks, aims to ensure residents have reliable access to medical services.
New ‘Maison France santé’ Label Aims to Improve Primary Care Access
The “Maison France santé” label identifies facilities meeting specific criteria for accessible and comprehensive healthcare.
- The “Maison France santé” label is co-managed by the ARS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the department prefecture.
- To qualify, structures must guarantee access to care, including a general practitioner and a nurse.
- Facilities must offer appointments within 48 hours when a patient’s health requires it.
- Various organizations can be labeled, including multi-professional health homes, medical practices, and hospitals.
The “Maison France santé” system is designed to bring together existing and developing primary care structures, fostering collaboration among health professionals and providing patients with better-supported healthcare journeys. The program emphasizes a multi-professional approach, ensuring patients receive coordinated care.
What criteria must a healthcare facility meet to be designated a “Maison France santé”? Structures must have a general practitioner with an established patient base (or be actively building one) and ensure the availability of a nurse, either on-site or nearby. Accessibility is also key, with facilities required to be open to all patients at least five days a week and offer consultations without exceeding standard fees.
Beyond basic access, labeled facilities must offer appointments within 48 hours when medically necessary, or direct patients to nearby care options that can provide treatment within that timeframe. Participation in unscheduled care regulation systems, including nighttime and weekend ambulatory care, can also fulfill this requirement.
A diverse range of organizations can earn the “Maison France santé” label, including multi-professional health homes and health centers, medical practices with multiple practitioners, hospitals providing primary care, and even innovative options like solidarity consultations, mobile medical units, and pharmacies with specialized services.
This collaborative effort is carried out in partnership with Health Insurance and involves local officials and health professional representatives. Structures receiving the “Maison France santé” designation will be eligible for dedicated funding to support the network’s development.
The seven structures in the Savoie department newly labeled “Maison France santé” are:
- The multi-professional health center of Bathie
- The multi-professional health center of Beaufort
- The Val Coisin medical center in Coise-Saint-Jean-Pied-Gauthier
- The multi-professional health center of Gilly-sur-Isère
- The 3 valleys multi-professional health center in Moûtiers
- The Chambéry Nord health center in Chambéry
- The Aigueblanche health center in Grand-Aigueblanche
Additional structures in the Savoie department are expected to receive certification starting in 2026.
