The French Government announced the deployment this Monday of 15,000 members of the security forces and bodies to protect access roads Paris and warned that he will do everything possible to prevent trucks with foreign products from being confiscated due to the protest of French farmers.

The announcement was made at the end of the crisis cabinet meeting organized by the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmaninon the eve of the blockades “for indefinite duration” announced by agricultural organizations starting at 13 GMT on Monday and that could leave the capital incommunicado.

“One of the slogans is that no tractor can enter Paris and that access to airports such as Roissy and Orly and the large international market of Rungis can function normally. This defensive position leads us to mobilize very important resources: 15,000 police and gendarmes,” said Darmanin.

The minister also stated that there will be gendarmerie helicopters to “prevent movements” of the protesters.

Likewise, Darmanin clarified that The general instruction will be not to intervene in the blockades and clarified that one of the exceptions will be if trucks transporting foreign products are confiscated.

“That is unacceptable and that is why we have given instructions for intervention and arrest if events like this occur, which are sporadic but have already happened” during the current mobilization, he added.
