Frenchman Merlin Surget won the snowboardcross World Cup stage on Saturday evening in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy), the last event before the Worlds-2023 in Bakuriani, Georgia, in a month (February 19-March 5) .
At 23, Merlin Surget signed his first World Cup victory, the second for a Frenchman this winter after Loan Bozzolo on the Cervinia track in mid-December in Italy. In Cortina, Surget beat the American Jake Vedder and another Frenchman, Léo Le Blé Jacques.

Among the women, Chloé Trespeuch, Olympic vice-champion last season on the Zhangjiakou track, climbed on her fourth podium in four races this winter. Winner and third in Cervinia, second in Les Deux-Alpes, the Frenchwoman took third place behind Briton Charlotte Bankes and American Faye Gulini.
This Cortina d’Ampezzo stage, the fourth this season, was the last before the Bakuriani Worlds, where the individual races will take place on Friday March 3, and the mixed team event the following day.
