Expecting to receive approximately 5,000 people, this Saturday (1st), cooperatives offer various services and free activities that move the routine of residents of the Parque Jacques da Luz region, in Bairro Moreninha. The event ranges from recreation for children to assistance with guidance in the health area, which are the main attraction, but those who arrive find other news and enjoy the afternoon’s activities that last until 5 pm.

The free actions are in the areas of health, well-being, beauty, financial education and sports. There are also cultural presentations, solidarity bazaar, lecture and much more. These are things that seem simple, but make a difference for those who participate and that’s the idea.

In the celebration of “Day C – Cooperate Day”, the cooperative members want to show that simple attitudes move the world.

Here are the cooperatives that are the strongest areas in Mato Grosso do Sul, which are health, agro and credit. They don’t come to sell their services, but offer free guidance and actions so that people can see how important the attitude of cooperating is”, explains the president of the OCB-MS System (Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives), Celso Régis.

The International Day of Cooperativism turned out to be an opportunity for distraction and health care for retired Sandra Marilda Melo, 62 years old. She lives alone and today would spend the afternoon cleaning the house, but decided to change her plans and take advantage of the action. From there, she left with the doctor’s alert and guidance on how to take care of her eyes.

I’m loving it here and it’s the first time I come to an event like this. I will need to do tests and consultation to evaluate the eyes. I live nearby and it was good to come and enjoy. Now I’m going to attend a lecture”, said Sandra Melo, resident of Bairro Moreninha.

The lecture is about the role of Ceam (Women’s Assistance Center) in the fight against domestic violence. Those who arrive receive all the information to seek help or guide other women who need support.

The lecture is important for women to know and be able to use the services offered by the State Government, through the center, which are in the area of social assistance and psychotherapeutic treatment. There is also assistance for women in the interior for referral to the services that are needed”, explains the coordinator of Ceam, Sidnéia Tobias.

Walking around the multi-sports court, people come across stands, while on stage artists prepare for their presentation. Laura Arcanjo, 40 years old, took her children for recreation and took the opportunity to look for psychological guidance.

“My son Pedro José, 9 years old, needs a diagnosis, maybe he has autism, but it is difficult to get an appointment and as I have Unimed I came here today to ask them about it”, said Laura.

Alongside the face painting for children, a mobile unit has a dentist’s chair and right there the dentist performs an evaluation to provide guidance. A lot of people arrive with decayed and compromised teeth, but leave knowing how to look for exams to get the ideal treatment, according to dentist relationship collaborator, Doany Arcanjo.

“Some people are very humble and need a lot of treatment on their teeth. This is already a good start to get motivated and seek treatment”, she comments.
