From “Star Wars” to “Indiana Jones”, the technique that makes these film scores unforgettable

Behind their almost universal celebrity, these musical themes share a common point: their creator, the composer John Williams. E.T., Jaws, Superman, it is also him. John Williams is the living artist with the most Oscar nominations (53).

How to explain such popularity? What is John Williams’ secret? Le Monde tried to understand his technique, with the help of a young symphony orchestra, “Curious”.
