GS Group plans to launch Russia’s first ODM-factory (Original Design Manufacturer), which will develop and assemble smartphones of domestic brands to order, a source close to the company told Vedomosti. The representative of the holding confirmed this information, specifying that it is also planned to assemble laptops and tablets there.
Serial ODM production at the enterprises of the Technopolis GS innovation cluster in Gusev, Kaliningrad region, should be launched by the end of 2023, a representative of the GS Group specified. The holding plans to invest about 3.5 billion rubles. in R&D, sample creation, licensed software, as well as retrofitting existing facilities. According to him, GS Group expects to release 30,000 devices monthly.
