The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries pledged to tighten sanctions against Russia, as well as intensify efforts to combat their circumvention. This is stated in a statement by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani as chairman of the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of the Group of Seven on the sidelines of the Munich Conference, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“They [главы МИД] expressed their intention to continue to coordinate with their partners the provision of military, financial, political, humanitarian, economic and development support to Ukraine, as well as to strengthen sanctions against Russia and those who materially support its war,” the document says. “They also expressed their intention to intensify efforts to combat evasion or circumvention of sanctions and export controls,” the statement said.

The G7 countries also called on other states to “take active steps to prevent the Russian defense sector from acquiring military equipment and dual-use goods” through their jurisdictions.
