Desperate Search Continues for Missing 10-Year-Old Gabrielle Terrelonge, Mother in Custody
The search for 10-year-old Gabrielle “Gabby” Terrelonge intensifies as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, with her mother, Passha Davis, currently held on charges of child neglect. Gabby was last seen on June 30th after stepping off a Greyhound bus with her mother at the Florida Mall in Orlando, sparking a multi-agency effort to locate the missing child.
Gabby’s father, Gordon Terrelonge, recently spoke publicly about the last moments he shared with his daughter. “In the last moments I had with my daughter, she was happy, energized. Her mom was out of it. Me and her had a brief second to talk, but it wasn’t really much,” he stated. He explained that he left due to fears of returning to jail and jeopardizing his own well-being, a decision that haunts him. “It wasn’t much, but it was enough for me to remember,” he added, expressing the profound weight of those final moments.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Margate Police Department and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, are actively working to uncover any leads. Detectives have canvassed abandoned hotels along West U.S. Route 192, an area the family frequented, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities note the family often utilized Greyhound or Flixbus for travel between South and Central Florida, including Orlando and Orange County.
Investigators have confirmed Gabby and her mother were last seen together on June 21st at a Walmart in Hollywood, Florida, captured on security footage in the checkout line. This sighting precedes Gabby’s disappearance by over a month, adding to the complexity of the case.
The case took a dramatic turn when Passha Davis, 34, was arrested on October 17th for allegedly shoplifting at a Dollar Tree, resulting in a two-week jail sentence. It was during her incarceration that Gabby was reported missing on October 29th by her father, who discovered his former partner was being held at the Broward County Jail. Davis was subsequently booked into the Broward County Jail a second time on November 4th, facing charges of child neglect without bodily harm and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
Concerns are mounting regarding Davis’s mental health and its potential impact on Gabby’s well-being. Gabrielle’s aunt, speaking to an NBC affiliate in Miami, voiced her fears, stating, “I fear that someone has taken her or she’s given her to someone she doesn’t know.” She further revealed that Davis has a history of mental illness and has previously attempted to gain custody of Gabrielle, exhibiting increasingly erratic behavior. The aunt recounted a harrowing experience from last year, finding Gabby sleeping on a cardboard mat in an alleyway in Plantation at 3:30 AM.
Gordon Terrelonge has cooperated fully with investigators, even undergoing and passing a polygraph examination. He expressed his anguish to WESH 2, stating, “I’ve been pretty much in my head thinking the worst. In a nightmare. I don’t want to believe it.” He revealed a disturbing detail shared during an interview with his former partner, where she allegedly told investigators he had Gabby. “Just think about it. I’m her father. How, every single day that she’s missing, I won’t be able to move on. Like, pretty much that’s my life you’re holding. I need it back. I need it back,” he pleaded.
