Investigators say a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation inside the car before Girlalala was shot while seated in the passenger seat. She was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Whyte, a former football player at Bethune-Cookman University, was previously arrested for domestic violence in November 2022.
