Bengaluru: Women’s Premier League 2024 was a special tournament for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The cricket team could not win the IPL, but the women’s team created history by winning the WPL 2024 under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana. This victory will definitely boost the confidence of the men’s team. After defeating Delhi Capitals in the final, Virat Kohli was seen celebrating the victory over video call.

Virat Kohli has always been with the RCB team in the IPL which started in 2008. His happiness was clearly visible. On Tuesday, he and other RCB men’s players were seen giving guard of honor to the women’s team at RCB’s Unbox event.

It is wrong to underestimate Virat’s achievements.

RCB captain Smriti Mandhana feels it is not right for people to underestimate Virat Kohli’s achievements after her team won the Women’s Premier League title recently. The Mandhana-led RCB team won the WPL trophy by defeating Delhi Capitals in its second year, while their male counterparts, under the leadership of Kohli, who captained for almost a decade, could not find success in the 16-year-old IPL.

Mandhana said, ‘Titles are one thing, but what he has achieved for India cannot be matched. So, I don’t think the comparison is fair in terms of where my career is and what he has achieved. The vice-captain of the Indian women’s team said, ‘I don’t like comparisons because what he has achieved is very good, he is an inspirational person. A title doesn’t define a lot of things. We all respect him and I think Virat should be respected. So, there is no difference for me too.
